London Summer Camp (2018) - RESISTANCE
Music Director: David Keefe
Programme Vocal Coaches: tbc
This year's London Summer Camp show title is:
The last remaining elders of the Iceni tribe gather round the fire, in secret protest against the Roman occupation of ancient Britain. They have come to resist the most powerful empire the western world has ever seen, in the most powerful way they know: to tell the stories of their ancestors and to keep the flame alive. Weaving history with modern fairytales, new heroes will arise in an epic fantasy where you become the creators of your own stories. Ensemble movement and mad musicality combine to create a beautiful and enchanting performance experience that invites the audience into a world of new tales.
Summer Camps are fun-filled 6-day summer activity holidays providing intense, creative training for anyone aged 11-17 looking to explore their potential and develop their acting, singing and dancing abilities. You'll work with top theatre professionals and create a brand new show in just a week on these exciting residential projects. You'll also receive a masterclass in audition technique (ready for the 2018 YMT auditions) and some specialist training in both voice and singing. Summer Camps do not require an audition - so get booking as it's first come, first served!
On YMT's Summer Camp, young people will have the opportunity to:
Create and perform a brand new musical
Develop skills in acting, singing and movement
Work with a professional artistic team
Boost confidence, self-esteem and teamwork skills
Gain a Grade 6 certificate in Musical Theatre in Production from Trinity College London
Contribute to Arts Award or Duke of Edinburgh Award

We promise you an exciting, theatrical week full of song, dance and drama. But don't take our word for it - here's what previous course participants said:
"I don't know if anything will ever be as amazing as my time with YMT! Thank you to everyone - cast, crew and chaperones."
Kane, 12, Plymouth
"I met some fantastic people, learned so much and created something that I didn't think was possible, in a week!"
Jenny, 16, London
