Andrew Doyle

Andrew is a writer and stand-up comedian. He recently appeared at the Soho Theatre, London, in his fifth solo stand-up show Future Tense.  His new stand-up show, Thought Crimes, will run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Last year he adapted Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels for YMT in collaboration with platinum-selling singer/songwriter Duke Special.  Andrew and Duke Special are currently working on an adaptation of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn for the Lyric Theatre, Belfast.  He has also collaborated with musician Craig Adams on adaptations of Terry Pratchett’s Soul Music (YMT) and Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio (Castle Theatre, Wellingborough). 

Andrew is the co-writer of internet sensation Jonathan Pie, the spoof news reporter created by Tom Walker.  Last year they collaborated on a live show which toured the UK culminating in a sell-out performance at the London Palladium.  Their online video responding to the US election result has had in excess of 130 million views.

Andrew’s plays include: Borderland (national tour for 7:84 Theatre Company, Scotland), The Second Mr Bailey (BBC Radio 4) and Jimmy Murphy Makes Amends (BBC Radio 4).  He is currently working on a new play for BBC Radio 4, Reacher’s Point, which will be broadcast later this year.
