I DID IT!
On Sunday 24 April 2016, I ran the London Marathon with over 30,000 others and I still can't quite believe it. It hurt a lot (my gosh did it hurt), but seeing YMTers, family and friends cheer me on was totally worth it. It took me 5 hours 21 minutes 15 seconds and I ran the entire thing!
I want to say a massive thank you to everyone for their kind words, support and donations! It has been an incredible experience, which I thankfully don't ever have to do again - although it was quite surreal running in between and Rhino and a Light House...
Together we've managed to raise over £1,500 so far for the YMT Bursary Scheme, which is absolutely amazing (so thank you!). Donations can still be made here (any contribution is so greatly appreciated).
My wonderful YMT family (Lara, Hannah, Simon, Jon, Sophie, Me, Diana and Anna).
The floor is my friend.
51 days to go...
So... running is actually quite fun. Who knew? With just over seven weeks to go, I'm starting to push myself and run longer distances - I managed to do a half marathon (13.1 miles!) with minimal crying, which was good. The weather has been pretty terrible recently and running against the wind is ridiculously annoying. Thankfully, my excellent playlist (consisting of Beyoncé, Destiny's Child and more Beyoncé) gets me through!
I haven't fallen over yet either, which is a bonus. Never say never though...
Anyway! A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! Any money you can spare to sponsor me is really really really really really really amazing! All money raised goes towards YMT's Bursary Scheme - allowing us to offer more opportunities to young people from all walks of life. Before and after the half marathon! It took me 2 hours 16 minutes 14 seconds - and one weird toe blister...
Thanks again, guys!!
